[ another week, another island another wave of things to look at and take in. right now though, date's taking in the sign that says "home biome", quite intently. ]

[ but no apparently he didn't tell the otaku about the maid cafe his bestie runs. he does pause as he's walking past, staring at a spot just to the left of the counter for a second too long, but he pulls himself away eventually. ]

I came here a few times trying to track him down, so I have an idea of how it all works. And the theming. If it wasn't obvious.

Whether he's a fan or not I don't know, but these places usually have themes, right?

Well, a lot of times the theme is just "maids", but quite a few of them do, yes. This is a new one to me, though.

Which ones are your favorites?

Yeah, when you first enter they call you "Sea King" [ said completely flatly ]

... Ah. I haven't been here enough to have a huge opinion buuut-- [ i'm sorry amane you don't deserve this ]-- she's pretty nice. Killer hips.

Oh, very nice! I love the colorful hair too. Cute and sexy perfectly packed into one, it sounds like.

Yeah, it stands out that's for sure. There were a few others milling around, but Amane knows Mizuki and Iris so she ended up being the one I asked questions of.

Also she's completely aware of how much of a con places like these are, which is kinda hilarious.

[ on one hand, he does like the "sadder but wiser girl" type. on the other, he also likes maid cafes. so he is unsure how to feel about this. ]

Well, I don't think they're inherently a con. If you aren't under any delusions about the maids' feelings for you and have plenty of money to throw around, there's nothing wrong with enjoying yourself at a place like this.

I know. Mizuki goes because she likes hanging out with the girls — no clue if they’re nice to her because she’s the boss’ daughter or anything, but they seem to like her. You know there’s gonna be a bunch of people who think it’s all real though, right? The feelings part at least.
