Okay, the decorations I choose to display in my home have no bearing on how I perform my job. I was single-handedly keeping a demonic invasion of the world at bay for months, you know!
I see. [ she pats her little hamster paw on his hand. well done. ] Although my understanding of the difficulties in holding off an invasion when you can stop time is admittedly a little hazy. I would be curious to know more.
[ is she being sincere? is she dragging him? who can say. ]
[ FROWNS!!! suddenly he feels like maybe she IS only a 2. ]
I don't have unlimited power, and diverting as much as it takes to maintain the barrier limits my ability to keep my physical form from deteriorating. And I can't just temporarily let up on it because repeatedly stopping the same space and time would create instabilities that could result in the destruction of the world.
[ dude don’t drop a lady’s rank because she’s shittalking you in front of this entire bar. that’s rude. ]
I see. So it is more like micromanaging on multiple levels, when you are not simply using it to stop umbrellas. There are theories that time is relative to an individual as well — if you are halting time on multiple different levels depending on how an individual perceives it, then—
Seems like the party is the only way, but there’s flexibility there.
[ siiiiighs. ]
Not exactly. [ … ] I figured you’d decided whatever came out of taking that plunge was too much hassle for you to bother with, seeing as you didn’t do anything for weeks. But you picked a hell of a time to suddenly decide it was worth it.
[ a Side Look ] And a hell of a couple of people to test your theories on.
I didn't intend to try anything until I had a reason to, and had reason to believe the pros would outweigh the cons. At that point we'd had two weeks of unintentional deaths followed by one partially unsolved double murder, and we also knew that all of the dead still existed, were able to contact us, and didn't seem to be any worse off than we were.
It was the first time it made sense to give it a shot. In retrospect I suppose I could have chosen a killer with fewer emotional attachments than myself, but it really came down to what was convenient that night.
[ me rereading that last tag and wondering why my drunk ass wrote "than myself" instead of "than i did", as if anyone has fewer emotional attachments than this fucker ]
It sure didn't!
[ shrugs. ]
I understand why most of you are angry about it, and it's fair, going by your standards. I just see things differently. And in the end we all ended up here in one place anyway.

Well, you did bring it pretty much everywhere else here, so we just had to go off what we know.

Perhaps that was already more than enough.

This is why I died in the first place!!

If you mean being here, then yes.
The point is I have a lot on my plate and I don't just play around 24/7.

Hmm.
Not so much now though, huh? [ seeing as, y'know. they're all dead and one of them double died in the most yakety sax way possible. ]
