The shocks I might agree with, but the fruit arm is saying something.

What happened?

The first part was the crap. The last parts were... kinda stupid, I guess. But it all messed with our heads and made us believe things that weren't real.

[ ... ]

It was weird. And really difficult to break out of. [ he frowns. ] And that fucking octopus was there as well.

Really? Hm. I ran into Filbo staring at the octopus here earlier today too. It's having its day in the spotlight, I suppose.

Weeks on and it's still the fucking worst.

[ he doesn't want the octopus to have a day in the spotlight he wants it gone. ]

It probably should've been more psychological than physical, but-- [ he shrugs. ] Things happen.

Mine was certainly 90% physical, though it does sound like that's not the norm.

Did you end up fighting the thing again?

[psynchronise]

No, nothing like that.

[ he pinches the bridge of his nose, like he's staving off a headache. ]

I didn't even know Rynlan and Hana were there for... well. Ages. Basically until the end. We thought they were dead. We were literally out there trying to find Rynlan's body. Hana had been dead for a week.

[ he shrugs. ]

People that are definitely alive were dead, and people who are gone here were walking around like nothing had ever happened to them.

Well, I can imagine that was disorienting, to say the least. How long were you there, from your point of view?

[psynchronise]

No clue. We didn't really have a way of measuring time. Might've been a few minutes, might've been ages.

[ oof!! ]

Every time we broke out of one scenario, we'd get dragged into another. Literally, there were these things in the water -- they kept going on about how hungry they were, and how unfair it was we got to live, and then we'd be somewhere else dealing with something else.

[ ... ] I think I was in a flower shop at one point? And a police stat---

[ he waves a hand. ]

Don't worry about it. The last few situations were weird and kinda... bitty, because we were semi-aware we were being trapped in an illusion.

Seemed like kind of a big reaction for a "bitty" situation.

Does that have anything to do with how on edge you seemed when you first got back?

[ he frowns. but he also wobbles his hand and then frowns more. ]

The "watching someone I know get run through with a sword" part probably also had me on edge. Just saying.

[ sips his cocoa. ]

[ he looks uncomfortable for a moment. ]

There were a few people from back home, actually.

...Well, I can see why that would have been rough.

Yeah. Like... negative five out of ten, I do not want to deal with that again.

Mm. Hopefully you won't have to.... though I'd sort of thought these little adventures were like one of those human viruses that you catch once and never get again, and apparently I was wrong about that.

Alas. There’s plenty of viruses out there you can catch a few times over.

… this is worst kind of thing to catch multiple times. But if it’s going to keep going, we still have until next weekend to wait for the party.

One more week. Hopefully the immunity will at least last until then.
