Oh? I wouldn't say that. At the start we didn't have any ideas, and by the end, we'd arrived at the correct conclusion.

Maybe what was falling apart was just your personal worldview?

At the start we were working calmly, and mostly together. By the end we were yelling at each other.

Have you ever seen things get calmer as a deadline approaches?

Besides, at the beginning, the image of the killer in everyone's minds was vague and faceless, someone no one had any qualms about condemning. Naturally tensions would rise when names finally started getting thrown around.

We still probably didn't need to sniff people's feet to get to the right conclusion.

[Yeah actually we jumped to feet-sniffing pretty darn fast, it's alarming.]

We definitely did not, but that boy got his head stuck in the jail bars in his first hour here. I don't think you should be looking at him as a bellwether.

In any event, feet aside, I think it went about as well as it could have. If you're going to lament something it should be the murder itself, not the path we took to learn the truth behind it.

(Though I'll add that it is in keeping with that big sister trope to be concerned about harmony!)

I don't think there was anything we could have done to stop the murder, we didn't even know murder was an option here.

Going forward though, we can try to prevent further deaths.

It's all well and good to announce your intentions, but without a plan of action behind them, they're only words. What is that you propose be done to prevent those additional deaths?

Week 2, Saturday

[Even though she does not like 'Mr. Faust' at all, she can at least recognize that he's right. Even if she doesn't like the outcome. And as much as she hates having to admit to being wrong when she's emotionally compromised, it's for the best that she rectifies things sooner than later.]

With the three cases so far, have you noticed anything strange?

...Yes, I think the forced sleep, the locked and then unlocked doors, and the seemingly deliberate awakenings pretty clearly point to some higher level intervention.

Each week, those who found themselves awake on Thursday nights seemed to have been specifically lured into their situations in one way or another. That seems especially evident now that we've done this with a set of people who had no intention of killing one another.

Week 3, Friday

[HEY GUESS WHAT ANOTHER MURDER HAPPENED

Tuuri can be found angrily ripping a few pages out of her notebook and tearing them up. She's not happy with that death announcement, nope.]

Don't say anything about it.

[It seems like there's writing on the pages, with things arranged like one would arrange notes? But it's hard to see exactly what they're about with them all ripped up.]

My apologies for not thinking to bring up those other pieces of evidence until it was too late.

It's alright, it was a lot of chaos in the end, and my memory is too faulty to rely on for deciding which bits of evidence were suspicious. It makes me wonder who wore that kigu, though.

That's certainly the question, isn't it. You really don't remember encountering anyone else awake that night at all?

No. Not after I stabbed Kon that first time, in the ice cream shop.

The only thing I can offer is that everyone in our curfew was asleep when I woke up. Nobody else woke up with me.

That's helpful to know, at least. I suppose the same was true of where he was staying, or he would have mentioned it to you.

That actually narrows it down quite a bit, given that the vast majority of us were split between those two rooms.

I was thinking that too. He stayed long enough to write those notes, so he would have seen if anyone else woke up.

Who else was there, outside of our two groups?
