Oh, there isn't really any hierarchy here, according to them. It's just Satan at the top and then low-level demons like them with nothing in between.

Seems that way. It's all very loosely organized. They treat this like a job, and perhaps they are under a sort of contract...

It's hard to imagine a Dark Lord that doesn't demand absolute loyalty, though.
